Sorry for the delay and glad you like StarCluster :D

You're more than welcome to submit bug reports to either the mailing
list or GitHub. With that said if you're familiar with GitHub I'd
prefer issues be filed there given that it's far easier for me to keep
track of things.

With that said I took a look at your gist and also commented on it,
however, I'll repeat it here in the case you don't look at GitHub that
often:

Can you please try the following and paste the output:

$ starcluster shell
[1]> img = ec2.get_image('ami-4773c22e')
[2]> print img.block_device_mapping

That should help figure out why '/dev/sda1' doesn't exist in the block
device map which is odd to me...
