StarCluster Import Error

After installing and configuring the python package: StarCluster, the
following error appears.

from boto.exception import BotoServerError, EC2ResponseError,
S3ResponseErrorImportError: No module named exception

What is causing this error? The above import works in the python shell.

I have tried to run StartCluster on OS X and ubuntu. StarCluster worked
briefly on Ubuntu. I have followed the instructions here:
https://github.com/jtriley/StarCluster/issues/140 with no success.
