error installing on mac using pip

So far I’ve tracked it down to a possible problem with the latest XCode http://kaspermunck.github.io/2014/03/fixing-clang-error/

But even trying the hint in there for trying to suppress the complaint, ‘pip install starcluster’ is still failing with the same error. Just wondering if anyone has seen this? Thanks.
