Hi All,
This afternoon, I tried configuring StarCluster to allow me to use rmate to
edit text files remotely using TextMate. In principle, it seems all I need
to do is to open up port 52698 and run rmate on the EC2 instance to fire up
TextMate locally on my machine. Adding the following security group
permission doesn't seem to be enough to get the job done
[permission textmate]
IP_PROTOCOL = tcp
FROM_PORT = 52698
TO_PORT = 52698
as I'm seeing the following:
/var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/rmate-1.5.7/bin/rmate:157:in `initialize':
Connection refused - connect(2) (Errno::ECONNREFUSED)
from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/rmate-1.5.7/bin/rmate:157:in `new'
from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/rmate-1.5.7/bin/rmate:157:in
`connect_and_handle_cmds'
from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/rmate-1.5.7/bin/rmate:207:in `block in <top
(required)>'
from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/rmate-1.5.7/bin/rmate:206:in `fork'
from /var/lib/gems/1.9.1/gems/rmate-1.5.7/bin/rmate:206:in `<top
(required)>'
from /usr/local/bin/rmate:23:in `load'
from /usr/local/bin/rmate:23:in `<main>'
Curious if anyone else on the list is using rmate on their StarCluster
instances and can advise how to properly configure for its use. Appreciate
any feedback!
