ipython notebook and starcluster

hi starcluster folks, i have run a few jobs using star cluster and came across a minor issue that i am sure i am doing something wrong:

i built a ubuntu c1.xlarge ami with fsl/neuro debian installed. i can run my fsl randomize_parallel bash script from ssh into master and putting
script and data on ebs volume and invoking fm command line. if i enable ipython notebook per your wiki instructions and launch a cluster
the bash script ran from the notebook fills the queue but none execute, they remain stuck in wait mode.

if i delete the queue and run the same script from the command line while notebook is still enabled same behavior. its as if enabling notebook
prevents the queue from executing. (disabling ipython notebook again fixes the problem). any advice?
