Hi Sumita,
A cluster is considered 'active' if a security group exists for the
cluster regardless of if there are active instances/nodes or not. You
can remove any cluster from the 'listclusters' output using the
terminate command:
$ starcluster terminate mycluster
A cluster can be 'stopped' only if it uses EBS-backed nodes which in
turn requires the nodes to be started with an EBS-backed AMI. I'm almost
finished with the new Ubuntu 11.10 StarCluster AMIs which are
EBS-backed. I'll send an announcement to the list when they're released.
In general, you can restart/reboot any cluster, either EBS or S3-backed,
using the 'restart' command:
$ starcluster restart mycluster
